AC Shadows Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana together with multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
